Only a song found is a song licensed. However, in big music databases, many great songs will be left undiscovered due to differences in metadata. Whether that is caused by several people with different interpretations working on your catalogue, or because you acquired external catalogues with different metadata, it is very likely that your music library also suffers from this issue in some way.
That’s why it’s very important to have a structured catalogue, that speaks the same language as the catalogue curator and your customer, so that songs can easily be found. Especially moods, that are often used when searching music but also can be very subjective, will need special treatment.
In our free white paper, we explain 8 things to consider when setting up an effective strategy for your catalog. To get the white paper, just send an email with the subject “Taxonomy White Paper” to email@example.com.
